An introduction to econometricsSome students love it, other hate it. I think it's an opportunity to shine. For some students it is their highest scoring paper. When you consider it's worth 20% of the HL course, that's a wonderful way to boost your grade. It doesn't always come easily though. I've seen some very talented mathematicians underestimate this paper and totally bomb out. On the other hand I've seen students that struggle with essays, excel in Paper 3.
Studying all Paper 3 elements together helps to groups the skills. In my opinion this is better than doing a little bit every month. This approach if offered toward the end of the two year programme also allows it to act as a revision tool for Paper 1 ideas, e.g. supply, demand and elasticities. Do the basics well. Read the questions carefully. Practice, practice practice. |
